About Us

Bucandi Environmental Services (BES) is based in Viljoenskroon in the North-Eastern Free State, but takes on projects all over South Africa. 

The company is managed by husband and wife team, Corneel and Hélen Prinsloo.  The company is built around Hélen’s international experience as an ecologist and environmental consultant.  She has an PhD. (Environmental Management), cum laude, from Tshwane University of Technology focussing on the sustainable utilisation of game birds, and has gained experience working as an environmental consultant both in the United States of America and in South Africa. 

Her fields of expertise include bird ecology, mammal ecology, environmental legislation, wildlife management, environmental management and Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
